Trash & Recycling

Royalton has a contract with Waste Management for trash and recycling pick up for all residents within city limits.

If you have a question or problem with the trash or recycling pick up, please contact City Hall 320-584-5900.

Trash pickup is every Thursday morning starting at 6am.  It is best to put your cart out Wednesday night.

Recycling pickup is every Thursday.  All recycling carts are co-mingle; meaning there is no need to sort. 

Holiday Lights can be recycled at City Hall all year long as well as small household batteries.  

Things that are Recyclable:

  • Plastic Bottles and containers No. 1-7
  • Clean glass bottles & jars
  • Paper-cereal boxes, junk mail, magazines, shoe boxes
  • Cardboard (large pieces need   to be bundles with tape or string 3' x 3')
  • Colored paper
  • Brown paper bags
  • Phone books
  • Aerosol cans- empty
  • Tin & Steel cans
  • Aluminum cans
  • Dairy and Juice Cartons

Do Not Recycle:

  • Aluminum foil
  • Holiday wrapping paper
  • Batteries
  • Light bulbs (may be recycled at lumber yard)                   
  • Plastic grocery bags
  • Pizza boxes
  • Paper towels
  • Styrofoam
  • Auto glass or ceramics
  • Painted or treated wood
  • Food waste
  • Sharps & medical waste
